Computer is one of the media which is can be alternative learning to children. There are many software that providing learning using computer. By using computer, children can learning by themselves. They can learn using English songs, watching videos, listening story telling, and playing games. By learning using English songs, children can feel enjoy to studying. They can easy to remember what they have heard and practice every time. In addition, they can also watching videos and listening story telling which can increase their knowledge and understanding something. They also can add their vocabularies. Beside that, they can also playing games. Games can help them to be more creative thinking.

So, computer in the learning process give many benefits. It can create comfortable situation for children. The pictures and sound can make them feel happy and did not feel bored.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IMPACT ON CHILD DEVELOPMENT

The Internet is a network of computers connected internationally and spread all over the world. This network includes millions of computers connected plane with one another by utilizing the telephone network (either wired or electromagnetic waves). It allows millions of computer network applications implemented between computers in a network the Internet with software and hardware support required. To join this network, one party (in this case the provider) must have the application programs and data banks which provide information and data that can be accessed by other parties that joined in the internet. Parties that have been incorporated in this network will have its own address (like a phone number) who can be contacted through the Internet. Provider is the primary server for the parties who have a personal computer (PC) to a subscriber or to access the Internet.
In line with the development of the age, the progress of Internet technology is also moving forward. 'Internet' is a computer network that connects a computer or computer network with another computer network, so it can communicate or share data regardless of the computer itself. In 1999, the number of computers that have been associated with the Internet around the world reached more than 40 million and this number continues to grow every day. Currently the number of web sites to reach millions, maybe even trillions, it contains a variety of topics. Of course, the sites were a source of information, both positive or negative.
In addition, the introduction of the Internet to children early on was also one of the factors that will influence whether or not a nation forward in the future. It is estimated that this Information Technology will be growing and will be widely used in the future. Artav Anti-Virus

Technology has brought children of Indonesian discovered an anti-virus for the computer. They were Arrival (13 years old) student in SMP N 24 Bandung and Taufik Aditya Utama (15 years old) student in SMA N 25 Bandung. The name their anti-virus is ARTAV which is an acronym from their name, Arrival and Taufik.

Actually, Arrival discovered an anti-virus by intuitively. It began from his hobby play games. At the time, the game could not open and he saw Visual Basic in his computer. After he asked to his brother, it was a program to create program. He started learn it and think "maybe the game could not opened because of virus!". He tried to create anti-virus ARTAV. After he spend 12 hours create engine, he found a strange file, and then he put the sample of virus into his anti-virus. Successfully removed and he could play again his favorite game.

Arrival and Taufik are the examples of Indonesian children who successfully get benefit of technology. They are to be example for other Indonesian children in using technology. Not only use computer to playing games, but also they can found a discovery which is very proud Indonesian children. I hope, there are other Indonesian children who could like them.

the popular technology for children nowadays and parents actions

We know that there are many kinds of technology, such as internet, television, radio, and many others. Nowadays, the user of technology is not only adult or teenagers but also children. The most kinds of technology that using by children is internet because internet is the popular technology in nowadays.

I have interviewed some children who use the technology in their daily activities. They said that they have used internet and watching television. This is my interview script:

The first interviewed.

Eka: how much time do you spent your time to watching television a day?

Lala: about 5 to 6 hours.

Eka: what the function of television for you?

Lala: to spent my time in the house, to amusing myself, and to know about the recent information.

Eka: what do you think about internet?

Lala: the place for gaming, computer, Facebook, and many more.

Eka: what did you do if you use the internet?

Lala: sometimes I open my Facebook account, browsing the celebrities’ pictures and searching a new song.

The second interviewed.

Eka: how much time do you spent your time to watching television a day?

Tia: about 4 hours

Eka: what the function of television for you?

Tia: to watching my favorite film.

Eka: what do you think about internet?

Tia: computer, song, and Facebook.

Eka: what did you do if you use the internet?

Tia: to open my Facebook account, playing a game, listening to the music, and fill the new song to my handphone.

From those interview, I can conclude that internet and television has a bad effect for the children because they just waste their time to do something not important. In the house they watch television about 5 to 6 hours a day and we know that it is not important thing to do. Actually, they have to study or do their homework not watching the television. As the parents, we have to direct the children to do the important thing like study at home or do their homework. We have to switch off the television as possible as we want, so that the child not always watching the television and it occur to using of the internet too.

We know that technology help parents to teach and educate their child, because the children can learn more information from the technology, but technology also has many bad effects for them. So, we have to pay attention and control  the children’ activities while they use the technology so that the parents can avoid the bad effects of the internet for the children.

Education Game

The development of technology gives effects in education in the use of computer. It can uses as one of the media in interactive learning. To the children, computer can be used as media of learning and entertainment. One of the entertainments which can educate the children in computer is education game.

In education game, children can learn and play anything, such as:

1. Children can match the pictures. They can match anything such as animal, fruits, anything in he school, home, and many more.
2. Children can complete words. They can fill in the words according to the images that are available.
3. Children can color the pictures. They can color the picture according to the color of the original image and they will know and remember these things easily.
4. Children can select the image. They can select which one pictures that suitable to the shadow of pictures.
5. Children can learn count of numbers. They can learn count of numbers easily because the numbers very colorful.

In conclusion,  education game is very useful to the children, especially the beginners. They can learn while playing game. So, they never feel bored learn to use computer.

Using Computer to the Children

Computer is a media to processing data, but along the development of technology computer become as a tool of information and education, especially internet. Computer becomes part of human life and it used from children to adults. Computer has 2 effects in children lives, the positive (advantages) and negative (disadvantages).
the positive effects (advantages) are:

1. By using computer, children become enjoy to learning because there are many software education which can attract the attention of children. More of they interested to the program and more they interested to learn too. For example, learn reading for beginners. Children prefer to read through program which provides colorful, animation, and sound.
2. Computer provides electronic games. It can help the children how to survive, manage strategy, and many more.
3. Children will be familiar using computers and it can help them in the future.

Beside the positive effects (advantages), computer has negative effects (disadvantages) too.

1. Children who playing electronic game to be aggressive. they can imitate what they have  seen in the game.
2. Children can miss their time to study and play with their friends.
3. Children can lazy to reading books and do their homework.
4. Children can get negative information from the internet. For example, pornography, violence, and many more.
